Overseas Experience
Frederick acted for a major insurer in a recovery action and successfully obtained leave to effect service of writ out of Hong Kong on a defendant company registered and physically located in Italy, eventually recovered a few million Hong Kong dollars.
Frederick also recently acted for and successfully procured an ideal settlement in a fatal claim involving the death of a deceased Medical Student who was born in Hong Kong, a Nepalese by ethnicity, holder of British passport, received high school education in India, attended his Med School in Bangladesh and whom, it was claimed, would have sought employment as a Doctor in Britain but for his unfortunate death. The highlight of this claim lies with the necessity to deal with multi-national legal, employment, educational, cultural/religious and tax issues and language barriers.
He has also represented various mentally retarded or incapacitated persons in their applications for an Order of Appointment of Committees in the Mental Health jurisdiction of the High Court under Part II of the Mental Health Ordinance so that appropriate persons and mechanisms would be put in place to manage the affairs of such mentally disabled persons.
